Private tours

We take you around the country and even, if time allows, to the neighboring country, like croatian seaside for example, to see all the beauty of our land, either classic tourist places or the less visited ones and especially Slovenia's hidden gems. The starting point is the capital Ljubljana, but tours can be conducted also from any other town (only the cost of fuel from Ljubljana and back is added to the price).

The itinerary is generally arranged upfront, but we can adjust it during the course of a trip on your request, for example if the weather changes or you just decide that you’d like to see or do something else. We would of course also be happy to help you with planning and suggestions for the sights, activities and local cuisine - a stop for lunch.

Some examples of our trips are on the first page - here.

A typical half or whole day trip

Let’s take the most popular place that tourists visit from Ljubljana – lake Bled. We pick you up from your hotel, drive for about half an hour, visit Bled castle on a cliff overlooking the lake, after that we take you to the town promenade, where you can enjoy the walk along the lake shores, grab a piece of a famous town cream cake or go to the island with a wooden boat. When you’re ready we pick you up and we can visit the Vintgar gorge or you can climb to the nearby hill and enjoy the magical view from the bench on top. In the summer you can swim in the quite warm water of the lake. Just a quick note: the Vintgar gorge, hugely popular tourist attraction, is suitable for moderately fit individuals and children from at least 3 or 4 years up, since the whole walk is about 2-3 hours. The gorge itself is one way only (aprox. 1 hour) and you can either walk back to the entrance/carpark outside the gorge or get a shuttle back. Or, alternatively, we pick you up at the exit :).

At the end we wait for you in the parking lot or pick you up, if it’s possible, wherever you are. We can even provide you with a local cell phone, so we can be in touch if the plan changes. There is also an option for lunch, where we can help you with suggestions or reservation.

Alternatively, if we arrange for a whole day, we drive further to the beautiful Bohinj walley with the lake of the same name with lots of possibilities for hiking, biking or just swimming and relaxing. The walley itself is worth a visit for a whole day or more. We combine a short hike to the Savica waterfall with panoramic boat ride and a visit to one of the museums. You can find a lot of possibilities here. We drive you between places, give you all the information and guidance, wait for you at the agreed place and do everything we can to make your trip memorable.

On all of our trips we can also include activities like biking, hiking or running, see the chapter below for details.

Activities

Biking: Slovenia has a number of opportunities for a great biking experience for all levels and preferences. On our trips we often combine some short biking (no extra charge) with on-foot sightseeing. Since the sport is so popular, we must reserve the bicycles at the renting company upfront so please send us your wishes, preferably a few days before so we can make a reservation as soon as possible as the demand is sometimes high, especially in the summer season. The prices are from around 18 eur (city bike) to 35 eur (treking bike) for a day. The biking can be self-guided, especially in the relatively small tourist areas, where there is no problem with orientation. Some of our guests prefer they bike around and explore the place for themselves. We can also do guided biking only tours, but the price is then a bit higher than the normal tour. In some cases of longer tours in more remote areas that we are not so familiar with, we can also provide a local bike guide or alternatively you can join an organized tour of a local company.

Note: At the moment this activity is available only with a minivan and for maximum of 4-5 people.

Hiking: There are endless possibilities for hiking in our country and we will help you organize any of them. We drive you to the start and pick you up at the finish. On our trips we can sometimes do, if you wish of course, some short hiking in combination with sightseeing or other activities with no extra charge. If you are set for more demanding hikes in the Alps, especially in winter, we recommend an alpine guide.

Running: We have lots of experience with organizing multi day running tours for other agencies and we’ll be glad to help you organize your running activity as well, take your baggage/equipment and wait for you at the end of the track with water, snack and spare clothes.

Other activities: Besides the above mentioned you can engage in various other activities, guided or self-guided. Some of them we can do on our trips, others, like rafting, kayaking, zipline, underground biking, fly-fishing, bear watching and similar, can be arranged at the local agencies, where we can make all the inquiries and reservations for you. Important note: In summer, the peak of the season, places get filled pretty quickly, so reservations a day or two in advance is recommended.

Cultural and gourmet experience

Our trips can also be more cultural oriented with visits to heritage sites, like churches, museums or just places where you can see or experience traditional arts, like making cheese in the alpine region. From a culinary point of view there are some excellent home restaurants and inns as well as michelin star restaurants, for every tastes and pockets. Popular places and well worth visiting are wine cellars with fine wine tasting, located in slovenia's prime wine-growing areas.

Custom trips

From exploring UNESCO listed caves to hiking through beautiful mountains with local culinary experience on the way. Basically, we take you wherever you’d like to go and organize whatever you’d like to do. Together we can combine visiting different interesting sites with optional activities, dependable on season, weather and interests. A month, week, day upfront or at the spot.

A great help with planning can also be a virtual AI travel guide at the official slovenia.info page - https://www.slovenia.info/en/alma. Available in multiple languages.

Prices

The prices are, of course, for the whole car or van, not per person. The price for a half day trip, which is usually a 30 min. to 1 hour drive from Ljubljana and takes up to 5, 6 hours, is between 100 and 150 eur, depends on distance/duration and actual itinerary. Please refer to our homepage for some examples or get in touch with us for a price for a specific tour or transport.

The whole day trip takes the whole day :) (8-12 hours) and costs from 180 to 300 eur.

Trips for 1 to 3 or 4 passengers are taken with a private car while a minivan is used for up to 7 people. The price is per vehicle and includes english-speaking driver, parking fees, tolls, water. Free of charge are also up to three child seats (forward facing - group 1,2 and 3 and/or booster seat)

The tours are conducted with our knowledgable drivers, who will give their best for you to have the most out of your trip. This includes telling you the information about the places you visit together with all the suggestions along the way. But if you would like to know more, especially about historical and cultural information, we can provide you with a professional certified guide. The cost would be somewhere from 70 to 200 eur for a day, depends on the duration and demandingness.
